PET air blowing compressors are an important part of PET bottles production used for beverages, foods, and other products. These compressors have a very important function of moulding PET preforms to final bottles.
Compression of Air
It starts with the compressor taking air into its chamber, from the environment. Thus, the main function of the compressor is to compress this air to a set pressure of 30-40 bar concerning the need of PET bottle production. This high-pressure air is important in shaping of the PET preforms to its desired shapes and sizes.
Air Filtration
When the air has been compressed it goes to the filtration system to be cleaned. This will allow the air to be clear and free of oily, damp particles that might damage the equipment or lower the quality of PET bottles.
Why It Matters: Dry and filtered air fosters the quality of bottles and eliminates failure in the blowing stage.
Air Cooling
Compressed air has the tendency of experiences a rise in its temperature during the compression process. Since the performance efficiency needs to be high and the PET preforms should not be damaged, an air cooling system or intercoolers is used to cool the air. By doing so the air remains at the right temperature that is acceptable for the blowing process.
Storage in Air Receiver
This air is further cooled and then filtered and it is the stored in the air receiver tank. They all function as a tank which supplies and accumulated high pressure air throughout the blowing process. It also helps ensure constant pressure reaches throughout the entire shift and maximum production time.
Blowing Process
The high-pressure air is therefore available in the blowing process. PET preforms are subjected to heat such that they reach their glass transition temperature of about 80-120 C so that the material turns pliable. When the two preforms are heated they are inserted into a mold and the compressed air is forced into the preforms.
Exhaust and Reuse
When the bottle is moulded, working air that was within the mould is expelled out of the mould. It has been established that some systems are specifically tasked with the responsibility of recirculating this air thereby increasing energy conservation and cutting operating expenses.
PET air blowing compressors are central in PET bottles production. These machines facilitate the formation of toughness and high-quality bottles that are used in common civil applications through the compression, filtration, and cooling of high-pressure air delivery. It is important to understand their operation for manufacturers with regards to expanding functionality and overall productivity and gauging the quality of products made.
